Take a Virtual Tour
of the Davis Hospice CenterOur Hospice team provides comfort, expert medical care, pain and symptom management and emotional and spiritual support tailored to each patient’s needs and wishes.
The goal of Hospice is to nurture and enhance quality of life. The patient, caregiver and family are involved in the care and the decision-making process. Hospice assists patients and families in working towards end of life goals.
Hospice care is appropriate when:
- The goal is comfort and quality of life
- The patient is diagnosed with a life-ending illness
- Further aggressive treatments to sustain life are no longer beneficial
Hospice is a benefit of Medicare/Medicaid and many private insurance policies. For those patients who may be without insurance, services will not be denied.
Outpatient Services
We provide outpatient care in private homes and assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Most of our patients do choose to remain in their own homes to be looked after by a family member or caregiver. Our outpatient team works with and educates family and caregivers on symptom management and improving the quality of life for the patient.
Inpatient Services
While many patients wish to receive care at home, sometimes this is not an option. Surrounded by pristine landscaping and tranquil waterfalls, we offer a dignified and comfortable inpatient atmosphere at our Davis Hospice Center.
Designed with the needs of patients and families in mind, we offer:
Your support team - Our Staff
Hospice care provides a sense of confidence and a network of support for caregivers. Care is delivered by a team of physicians, nurses, home health aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers that anticipate and address patient needs. This teamwork approach allows us to treat the patient and the family as a unit of care — mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Medical care is managed by the patient's physician and the hospice medical director, with a special emphasis on pain management and effective symptom control. In addition to the medical staff, volunteers provide emotional support, respite care, meal preparation, shopping and facilitating correspondence for patients and family members.
Patients have access to an on-call staff, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Bereavement - The Healing Process
The time following someone’s death is often difficult for family, caregivers and friends as they tend to have mixed emotions that can be confusing. Grief is a normal, natural reaction to the loss of a loved one.
Our care does not stop with the death of a patient. We offer confidence and kindness in the healing process, including bereavement programs and services to help survivors through the grieving process. We offer a comprehensive 13 months of follow-up care for identified family members and friends.
Volunteers - Hands that Help
Hospice Volunteers are fully trained to provide support to patients, families and friends. All have a true desire to help. They are caring, emotionally mature and committed to the mission of Hospice. Volunteers are available to assist with emotional and spiritual support, respite care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, reading and writing.
