Diabetes Self Management

Cheyenne Regional's Diabetes Self-Management program provides education for adults and children so they can learn the necessary skills to live a healthy, active life. Our program has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association for Quality Self-Management Education.
We assist existing and newly diagnosed patients with:
- Type 1 Diabetes
- Type 2 Diabetes
- Gestational Diabetes
Education
We offer individual or group instruction depending on each patient's needs. Adults with Type II diabetes have an initial visit with a nurse and a dietitian, in addition to six to eight hours of classroom instruction that covers:
- Physical activity
- Healthy eating for diabetes
- Medication instruction
- Prevention and treatment of acute and chronic complications
- Self blood-glucose monitoring
- Stress management
- Staying healthy for a lifetime
Our highly qualified staff can also help you with insulin administration, adjustment and insulin pump education.
Follow-up and annual review visits are also available.
