to Bike to Work June 19-26

Cheyenne, WY – Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, the City of Cheyenne, Rock on Wheels, Bicycle Station and Warren Federal Credit Union are encouraging community members to participate in Bike to Work Week, June 19-26, by hosting the following events:

  • June 22, noon-2 p.m.:  Rock on Wheels will provide bike tune ups at a discounted rate of $20 in the parking lot of Cheyenne Regional’s Health & Fitness Center, 1620 E. Pershing Blvd.
  • June 23, Bike to Work Day: The City of Cheyenne will host a group ride, and Warren Federal Credit Union will offer a free breakfast for anyone biking to work that day. For the group ride, meet at 7 a.m. in front of the Bicycle Station, 2634 Dell Range Blvd. Free breakfast will be served at Warren Federal Credit Union, 114 E. 7th Ave., 6:30-8:30 a.m. You must be riding a bike in order to receive breakfast.

“Most people struggle to get the recommended 30 minutes of daily physical activity. Biking to work instead of driving can be a great way to fit exercise in your busy schedule and keep healthy,” said Alice Burron, Cheyenne Regional’s wellness coordinator.

“If you make a habit of biking to work, you can save money on gas and maintenance, and if enough people bike regularly, it can have a positive impact on the environment,” added Burron.
