President
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation

Chris Kiser has served as President of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation since February 2008.

As the Foundation’s President, Chris oversees all fundraising activities on behalf of Cheyenne Regional. This includes annual fundraising events/ campaigns such as Denim ’N Diamonds, major gift development, capital campaigns, grant writing, planned giving and special events. In planning for development and fundraising, Chris works closely with the Foundation’s Board of Directors and Cheyenne Regional’s Volunteer Services.

“I appreciate the fact that our donors are so engaged and generous when it comes to giving to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center,” says Chris. “Our hospital has been here since 1867 and has played a huge role in the growth and overall well-being of Cheyenne and Laramie County. Our donors are very well aware of Cheyenne Regional’s contribution to this area and are more than willing to give back through the Foundation.”

Since joining the Foundation, Chris says he’s been impressed with how hard everyone at Cheyenne Regional works and how dedicated the staff is to the hospital and community. “I was especially impressed with the teamwork and overall commitment to excellence during the blizzard in March. It was nice to see everyone come together and unite for a common purpose.”

Before coming to the Foundation, Chris owned a marketing-consulting firm in Fort Collins, Colo. One of the firm’s major projects was to develop the naming rights for the Budweiser Events Center and other buildings at “The Ranch,” the Larimer County Fair and Events Complex in Loveland, Colo.

Prior to that, Chris was a marketing and development professional for the Phoenix Suns and athletic programs at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), the University of Colorado (CU) and Colorado State University.

“It was exciting to be part of such successful programs,” says Chris. “UNLV and CU won national championships when I was involved with their organizations—UNLV in basketball and CU in football.” Chris says he was also fortunate to be affiliated with football programs that played in nine post-season bowl games: Orange (2), Fiesta (2), Holiday (2), Aloha, Cotton and the Blockbuster.

“It was a privilege to work with people who took such pride in their work and wanted to ensure the development of successful programs,” says Chris. “The people in these organizations expected everyone to give their best—and the result was championships.”

Chris says he and the Foundation’s staff and Board are committed to that same kind of work ethic and desire for excellence: “We are a great team and are proud to be working on behalf of Cheyenne Regional and our community. In terms of fundraising and giving, we continue to expect big things for the future of the Foundation and the hospital. The goal, of course, is to ensure that the people of our city, county, state and region have ongoing access to quality healthcare.”

Chris has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa and a Master of Science degree from Western Illinois University.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys working out, skiing, fly-fishing and playing tennis and golf. Chris is also an experienced runner and has competed in several marathons. His less strenuous hobbies include reading and cooking.
