Leigh West Vice President Planning / CommunicationsLeigh West has been employed at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center since 1997, when she was hired as Executive Director of the hospital’s Foundation.
As Executive Director of the Foundation, Leigh:
- Developed and managed a comprehensive program to attract gifts to the Foundation through bequests, lifetime gifts and other charitable instruments
- Oversaw Denim ’N Diamonds, an annual event to raise funds for hospital programs, technology and projects
- Managed a successful $12 million capital campaign to build Cheyenne Regional’s Davis Hospice Center, our community’s only inpatient hospice center
As Vice President of Planning & Communication, Leigh is currently responsible for organizational planning; internal and external communications; community relations and advocacy.
Leigh has worked in healthcare since 1993. Prior to that, she helped administer:
- An international arts festival in Los Angeles
- The Los Angeles Olympics Arts Festival, a 10-week festival presented as part of the 1984 Olympics
- Wealth management services
- A consulting agency that developed business plans for not-for-profit organizations
Leigh holds a Bachelor of Music degree, specializing in Music Performance; a Master of Arts degree in Not-for- Profit Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Management.
Leigh has dedicated her life to the not-for-profit sector and takes great pride and satisfaction in working on projects that help improve communities and the lives of people. She is honored to be part of Cheyenne Regional and the care that it provides to the people of Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming, and the region.
As a single mother, Leigh understands the challenges of other single parents— as well as the joys and the constant juggling. Her son, a student at East High School, is an accomplished violinist. The two of them travel to Laramie weekly so that her son can study the violin. Leigh is a member of the Cheyenne Chamber Singers and is President of the Chamber Singers’ Board. She is also on the Board for Cheyenne LEADS (a private economic development corporation for Laramie County) and the Cheyenne Arts Council. In addition, she enjoys entertaining, traveling and reading.
