David Squires Chief Information Officer / Vice President Support ServicesDavid Squires first came to work at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in 1999 as the Information Technology Strategic Planner. He was promoted to Director of IT Planning & Communications in 2000. After a nationwide search, David was selected in 2004 to be Cheyenne Regional’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). Because of his broad range of professional experience, David was also asked to serve as Vice President of Support Services in 2006.
David’s professional work history includes:
- 9 years at IBM working in professional services, consulting and project management
- 6 years in banking
- 24 years of information technology experience
- 10 years of healthcare experience
In addition, David served in the United States Coast Guard for four years. During that time he was a member of the United States Presidential Honor Guard–serving at state functions at the White House, U.S. Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon. Other duties included working as an aviation electronics technician.
As CIO and Vice President of Support Services at Cheyenne Regional, David oversees the following departments:

- Food & Nutrition

- Bio Med
- Transportation
- Grounds
- Aesthetics
David received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University in Fresno, Calif., with an option in Computer Systems & Applications and a minor in Industrial Technologies.
A native of Cheyenne, David says he enjoyed growing up here. He graduated from East High School and then attended the University of Wyoming. He left the Cheyenne area for almost 20 years to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard, finish college and work for IBM. After being away for so long, David says he appreciates the community even more and is happy to be back.
David enjoys working at Cheyenne Regional “because we are making a difference in people’s lives every day.” He appreciates having the chance to work with people from a variety of departments.
When he’s not working, David enjoys spending as much time as possible in the mountains fishing, hiking and riding ATVs.
