Thursday, October 5, 2006 Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Receives Quality Achievement Award CHEYENNE – Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) was presented with a Quality Achievement Award from Mountain-Pacific Quality Health during the Wyoming Hospital Association’s annual convention on Thursday, October 5, at the Best Western Hitching Post Inn in Cheyenne. CRMC is one of only five Wyoming hospitals selected to receive a 2006 Quality Achievement Award, the highest award given by Mountain-Pacific. The Hospital Quality Award recognizes hospitals for their commitment to sustained performance and improvement in giving patients quality care in a variety of areas, including treatment of heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and prevention of surgical infections. Mountain-Pacific has presented facilities with Hospital Quality Awards for the last three years. “These hospitals have demonstrated that quality is an integral part of their culture,” said Howard Willson, M.D., Wyoming Medical Director for Mountain-Pacific. This award is given to hospitals that show a high level of compliance or significant improvement within 14 quality indicators established by Medicare and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, said Penny Morris, CRMC’s Director of Quality Improvement. “This is a facility-wide award so it reflects well on our entire hospital staff,” said Morris. Morris credited Christine Kercher, RN, CRMC Core Measure Case Manager, and Marlene Griffith, CRMC Cardiovascular Critical Analyst, for their focus on quality patient care. “They keep the hospital informed when new research and information is released and work on how to best implement findings to ensure that patients receive the best care possible,” said Morris. Mountain-Pacific is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Montana, Wyoming, Hawaii and Alaska and works for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to promote proven best practices and transform the way health care is delivered. CRMC is a 206-bed premier regional healthcare system that prides itself on delivering the highest standard of quality care to meet the region’s growing healthcare needs. CRMC’s highly trained physicians and employees, state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technologies ensure our patients will receive exceptional care close to home. -CRMC- |
