“Time out!... No longer a punishment? Cheyenne Regional Medical Center celebrates National Time Out Day CHEYENNE – Cheyenne Regional Medical Center will celebrate National Time Out Day on Wednesday, June 20th. National Time Out Day is a reminder that a time out should take place before any surgery or other high risk procedure. The American College of Surgeon (ACS) and the Joint Commission are partnering with Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) on its annual National Time Out Day. It will be the Fourth consecutive year AORN has sponsored this event to highlight The Joint Commission’s mandated “time out” to verify the correct patient, correct procedure and correct site before any surgery begins. “We see this day as a way to reinforce patient safety for the entire surgical care team, families and patients,” said Jennifer Misajet, Administrative Director of Cheyenne Regional’s Surgical Services division. “This important patient safety initiative reminds all healthcare providers about the significance of maintaining clear communication when reviewing pertinent patient information before the start of any high risk or surgical procedure.” Cheyenne Regional is a 218-bed premier regional healthcare system that prides itself on delivering exceptional patient care for the region. We meet the highest standards of quality for our patients, and we extend our capabilities with advanced procedures and leading technologies to help in the healing process.
