Medical Records Go Electronic CHEYENNE – Like a handful of hospitals nationwide, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) has traded its cumbersome paper formatted medical records for a forward-looking Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. EHRs are the future of health information management, capturing, indexing, consolidating, storing and providing secure access to all patient information electronically. CRMC successfully implemented EHR on May 1, 2006. Joseph Dobson, M.D. was the first member of CRMC’s medical staff to electronically sign a patient’s chart from the comfort of his office without the need to visit the medical records department within the hospital.
